The reason to go up to a Hoylake is almost never the look. It is that a games console, a set top box and a soundbar have to live somewhere, and on the walls below they end up on the floating shelf with their cables showing.

The equipment bay is ventilated and reachable. A console shut in an airtight box overheats, and a box you cannot reach is a box you will be taking the front off in a year, so there is an access panel and a route for the cables that does not involve dismantling anything.

Good questions

Questions people ask.

Will my games console overheat in the cupboard?

Not in the bay we build for it. It is ventilated top and bottom and sized with air around the unit, which is the whole reason it is a separate bay rather than one of the closed cupboards.

How do I get at the cables afterwards?

There is an access panel behind the equipment bay. Every wall we build assumes you will one day change the television or the broadband box, because everybody does.

Can the soundbar recess fit any soundbar?

It is cut to yours, so bring the model to the survey or measure it. A recess cut to a generic size either shows a gap or does not fit, and both are permanent.

Are the cupboard doors handleless?

Push to open as standard, which keeps the face clean. Handles are an option if you would rather, and some people prefer them on a wall a child will be using.

Can I have open shelves instead of cupboards?

Then you are looking at a Caldy, which is the same wall without the carcass work along the base and priced accordingly.
